Memoirs of a Geisha

Went to watch Memoirs of a Geisha yesterday evening with Xueling at Great World City. As we went in pretty late, we were seated at the second row from the screen and its very tedious!!! ARGH!! can feel the strain in the neck and the eyes....

The show is ok... but I just felt that there's no climax. I think the little girl who acted as Chiyo is very pretty!!!! and she does resemble Zhang Ziyi in some ways!!! Too much emphasis has been on the little girl's life and this is quite redundant. After that, you see her grow up and aspire to be a geisha so that she can meet the handsome Chairman who bought her ice when she felt very down when she was a little girl. Then you see her train to become the top geisha and the 'politics' between Gong Li & Michelle Yeoh and the OLD matriach mamasan.......... after that, it was a huge fire, and Gong Li's character disappeared from then on.... dunno what happened in between but suddenly there's WWII. They got separated but got united again because the Chairman made different arrangements for both Zhang Ziyi and Michelle Yeoh... then the Chairman's friend came to look for Zhang Ziyi and required her help to 'seduce' the American General so that they could get fundings for their new factory.... YAWNZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz..... finally the truth came to light.... Actually the Chairman loved Zhang Ziyi and made all the arrangements for Michelle Yeoh to go and train her to be a geisha and redeem her freedom and hoped they could be together at last...... then its the END!!! All these for 2hrs 30mins!!!! damn BORING!!!!!!

Don't understand how come the lead character "Sayuri" has blue eyes???? Are her parents of caucasian desent??

After that went to McDonald's to have dinner before taking the 10pm shuttle bus to Orchard Road. The bus is definitely not meant for standing as there are no handles or hand grip anywhere?!?! and the uncle can't wait to get all of us fall to the ground! GRrrr.... wat a nasty and reckless driver he was!!!!

Today is hectic in the office! 10am site visit at Forum Shopping Mall.... then 2:30pm another meeting at my client's office.... today's time was spent on such matters....... and in a twinkling of an eye, its 6pm!!! Aiyoh!!! and this Jenny from Channel U came to present some possible programmes for sponsorship.... and Miss Keng had to go home early because her son is very sick! Yawnzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... as usual lah!! got urgent things to do but still need to go home to look after the kid, but at home no PC so try to 'taichi' the work to somebody else.... heng boss ask her to borrow a laptop home to finish her work! PHEW!! But I think she'll come back and work on it on Monday cos she will make an excuse that says "My baby is sick! I have to take care of him! so no time to work!"

Had a 'canned fruits' party today.... Regina said Kiam Pa Face looked like "Pumpkin" from the Memoirs of a Geisha!!! hahahaha... I felt like laughing out loud into Kiam Pa's face since she's also around. Regina said maybe its the way she held the cigarette.... but in my heart, I think its because "pumpkin" is the 'cannot-make-it geisha', who is just like Kiam Pa Face, who LAGI cannot make it!!! and "Pumpkin" is quite UGLY!!! EEEEEEEEEEeeKKKKK....

I am on MC today.... guess the late bath last night caused my the fever to attack me and my runny nose operating like a tap.

Was doing my packing for the shift last night. Stumbled upon lots of movie posters and we've already taken stock of what are the movie posters we have...... can hear the cash tills ringing right?? $_$

After that, Jenn, Wendy and I went to Lau Pa Sat for "dinner". I had dumpling soup... maybe that's a symptom that I'm going to be sick the next day... just felt that my appetite suddenly dimished.... Anyway, saw Miss Keng rushing off after her dinner at Lau Pa Sat too! She would surely be in for a scolding cos she's supposed to finish some work, but she took to packing her stuff instead, and left around 9:15pm!!! She should really learn to prioritise her work man!!!

Doc said I should've seen him last week but I just can't afford the time... the virus has been breeding in my body now that its unleashed, I've been termed "Contagious" and ordered not to go to work, for fear of spreading it to my colleagues. He gave me special & potent medicine and its making me feel very sleepy......................

I awoke because of Jenn's call. Thanks to DUMB BLACK DEBBIE! She's asking for the stars and moon again!!! This time, she wants us to work magic by giving her a proposal to direct traffic to a branch that's clearly not very visible!!!! What a bad location!!! Anyway, I think she's beyond cure and getting more and more DITSY! She should seriously conside dyeing her hair BLONDE!

Anyway, I've got to go for lunch... mum cooked instant noodles for me....

Moving Office

Our office is going to shift to Temasek Tower on 25th Jan... Sigh... no more "War of the Worlds" view in the new office since we're only on the 8th floor... Heard from Jennifer that our team will be occupying a 'fish tank' all to ourselves!!! How exciting!!! Hope we can decorate the room nicely : )

There's a briefing this Thursday at 9:30am on the new seating plan. I hope I don't have to sit beside Miss Keng as she causes lots of distractions. The very few months when I sat beside her when I first joined the company left me truly traumatised... she eats like a pig!!! (I don't mean to be rude but when I heard her nibble & chewing on her food, I thought it sounded like the pigs we used to keep back in my kampong days!) She farts all the time! (though that time she told me its because she's pregnant and there's lot of wind in her stomache) She is very prone to flu as she gets ulcers in her mouth more frequent that someone who gets sunburnt! And she talks very loudly and uncouthly on the phone! ARGH!!! Still can feel the shiver down my spine when I recall those 'darkest days'...

And I surely hope I dun have to face Kiampa Face as one look at her will make you lose appetite and feel that you lost the ability to smile too! Heng today during lunch I didn't sit opposite her! PHEW! I think sometimes the things that she chose to reveal is very sad....I felt that she's really not very well-received, even by her family! and I don't really think she has any real Friends... she told us that when she go overseas, her siblings can't wait for her to get away and said BYE to her happily!!! PHEW!! I'm glad I don't get such treatment from her!!! April always cries when she sends me off! Strange right?? Its not as if I'm not coming back!! haha... but anyway, its fun to have them around! They would love to come to the airport to fetch me or send me off anytime as it gives them an opportunity to eat MCDONALDS!!!! haha.... anyway, that's beside the point :P

Life is 'back to normal' today as most of the stuff are done... just need to wait for client to revert before we need to activate any of the proposed ideas...

I hope I can leave early on Thursday to watch "Memoirs of a Geisha"!! We were given free movie tickets by Yahoo to watch it at 6:30pm this Thursday at GV Grand! Hope the show would be good! or else got nothing to say also... since its FREE tickets!

Going to Hong Kong!

Went to book my air tickets on Saturday with Xueling, its damn crowded at Chinatown man!!!! And the Travel agency must be having a 'happy & prosperous CNY' due to so many bookings during that period!

We settled for Formosa Travel in People's Park Centre. The total package is about $600. I intend to bring S$500 to do my shopping and buying of souvenirs. You know lah... going to Disneyland means = souvenirs for my nieces & nephews!!!!! Plus must buy souvenir for Yuan, who cannot go... must call her to check if she used the spa package with her Anata over the weekends... or else it will expire on 30 Jan!!!!!

Disturbed Xueling when Yanshan called while I'm paying for Xavier's birthday present at Takashimaya cashier counter. I teased Xueling that Yanshan should not pay the $410 deposit which she had helped to pay cos she still owe Yanshan her air ticket to come back for Yuan's ROM!! HOHOHO!!! Will continue to tease her when Yanshan comes back!

We will be visiting Disneyland!! HOORAY!!! I just hope it would not be very crowded... when I went to Lotte World in Korea in 2004, it happened to be the school holidays hence there were queues everywhere!!!! Gosh!!! We didn't even know what we were queueing for, just know that the queue is very long, hence, it must be something exciting. Heng I can still take such 'thrilling' rides... if I were to do it 10 years later, I might die of heart attack!!!

I was damn pissed off with Singaporeans! They were really a bunch of RUDE people! Thought Singaporeans are very obedient one?? Government pass whatever new rules they have to abide??

Stand behind the yellow line while waiting for the train to approach the MRT platform?? No WAY!!!

Allow passengers to alight first?? NO WAY!!!!

Keep to the left on the escalator?? No WAY!!!! They push and shove their way so that they can keep to the left on the escalator!!!! Good grief!!! What happened to all the Courtesy Campaigns that the government has tried so hard to upkeep for the past 20 years???

Also, I was molested on the bus again on Friday!! ARGH!!!! Stupid Chinaman this time!!!!!! I decided to BAN travelling on buses in future! (Except for the feeder bus I have to take every morning to work!)
