Sleeping Beauties

The MRT I took this morning was very crowded. It happened that 2 old women had to stand for a very long period of time before they were being offered seats. What's the point of putting up the sign above the seat that read "Please give up this seat to the elderly or those who need it more than you." Wonder what happened to the civic mindedness to fellow Singaporeans??

As Singapore progresses, people become less civic and more barbaric! Its so atrocious to see an old woman having to maintain her balance when the maniac MRT driver tried to perform braking stunts! And the worst fact was, she's standing just in front of that seat which is designated to the less fortunate, elderly or pregnant women!! What I saw were sleeping beauties flooding the seats!!!

And miraculously, these people seem to be able to know when to get up to alight at their stop!!! How cunning!!!!

I believe there were a handful who really needed the sleep 'cos they awoke with blood-shot eyes. I despise those who try to become 'sleeping beauty' and wait for their prince charming or snow white to come and rescue from their deep slumber.

SPH Lunch

Felt kinda cheated... All of us looked forward to today's lunch as Andy told us its going to be at "JADE" in Fullerton. It turned out to be the ballroom instead... and the service is ULTRA horrible!!!!!

The waiters obviously didn't count properly how many bowls there are when serving. Since they know that our table has 12 people, shouldn't they be displaying 12 bowls and just put the food nicely inside? Most if the time, 2 people don't get the food. First dish was the Yu Sheng, which tasted OK only.... Second dish was the sharks' fins, but Jenn & mine went missing... gotta wait for a few minutes before ours were being served. And when the waiter served us our sharks' fin, his hands were trembling I'm afraid the shark will get dizzy and try to swim its way out of the bowl!

Third dish was roasted chicken, this time, only Mine was missing and the waiter told me to wait 15mins!!! I was like....... hmmm..... tasted bland without the sauce... but then again, the sauce was super oily!!! eeeeekk.....

Fourth dish was the beancurd with mussels + fat choy + mushroom.... sad to say.... the mushroom didn't really taste wonderful!

Fifth dish was the rice.... smells quite fragrant, and tastes ok only. The last dish was the dessert which I don't really..... Sigh.... today's lunch turned out WORSE than yesterday's!

Yesterday was the first night I stayed back late.... saw the fireworks from my office around 9pm+..... the monthly gig is driving me CRAZY!!! Sigh......

I haven't packed my stuff, but I heard Sherry mention that there's a very bad flu bug going around in HK.... and its quite cold... hence, I must bring papa's coat with me!!!

Got to start checking out my wardrobe to see what I'm bringing for this short trip tonight!

Man Fu Yuan (Hotel InterContinental)

Today's lunch was SUPER!!!

It really compensated for yesterday's horrid lunch! The Yu Sheng is GOOD! :) We had a 9 course meal. By the time the dessert came, all of us can hardly move our chopsticks!

The menu is pretty interesting too! The dessert is mango+pomelo sago! : ) and I think the duck is good! The sauce has a unique taste. Too bad there's bean sprouts in the sharks' fins!

Hope tomorrow's lunch at Jade (Fullerton) is good too since I've heard so much about the standards of that restaurant!

Boss mentioned that tomorrow's theme for the lunch is 'chin cheong'. ARGH!! I don't have any chin cheong clothings. But I think I'll just bring that 'chin cheong' bag i got from Vietnam : ) hehe... that should do the trick! I'll wear my yellow top tomorrow, though it looks more Thai than Chinese, but who Cares?? There're chinese in Thailand too!!

Horrible Lunch at Hotel InterContinental

Had a Yu Sheng lunch at Hotel InterContinental just now. The food's quite bad... The artistes were quite lame too! Dunno why they are there in the first place... saw Daniel Ong coming to fetch Jamie Teo from the event.

I only had a miserable plate of appetiser and a miserable plate of main course. Didn't even eat the 'lou hei' and the desserts... when I returned from the function, I had 2 packets of Petit Brunch biscuits and a piece of Bonjour Chocolate Chip bread, and had some raisins, and even nuts!! Oh my god!!! Don't think I'll have dinner tonight.

Shall refrain from sitting in front of the computer tonight. It's making me more lethargic... Yawnzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I shall finish my book "LATIFA" tonight. Then I can go to the library to look for new books this weekend. Hopefully I can get a good book to accompany me on my flight to Hong Kong on Sunday... but then again, I guess I would be sleeping, rather than reading since my flight is at 6:50am!! YEAH!!! Can't wait to visit Disney Land!!!! and I must remember to take that 'classic photo shot" with Mickey & Minnie in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle! : )
