Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice

Walked to Maxwell Market for lunch this afternoon.

Had been wanting to eat the "Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice" which is supposed to be famous and good! The queue is quite long... and the look of the chicken seems ok... the smell of the chilli reminds me of what we usually do at home...

When I sink my teeth into the chicken... I feel that its not very sweet and tender.... and the rice is super oily and a bit soggy... what a complete disappointment!!!!! Think my mum makes better chicken rice than Tian Tian!!!

I don't think I will ever buy from this over-rated stall again!!

Met up with Indira and Doris last night at the Coffee Club at Raffles Place MRT station. I had the Penne Prawn Pasta and we shared a banana split (Of course I didn't touch the banana!!) After the dinner, Indira suddenly had a very bad tummy ache. She suspected the food she ate might be giving her slight diarrhoea. Doris and I were worried. There were no cabs around, hence, its hard for her to quickly hop into a cab and go home. She had to visit the toilet 3 times!!! Doris & I quickly ran over to the nearest 7-11 at Golden Shoe market to get her the "Poh Chye Pills".

This morning, Indira SMS me and told me that its not the food at Coffee Club that gave her the diarrhoea. She got food poisoning from the lunch she ate yesterday afternoon!!!! She had organic food yesterday and she's going to call that place to report the food poisoning incident. Damn scary!!! Luckily food at Coffee Club is still fit for consumption! OR else I would stop going to the one at Raffles Place!

Stayed up to wait for "Yu Le Bai Fen Bai" 'cos I want to catch the entertainment news on Ashin's new book launch where Monster & Stone actually appeared during his autograph session. Heard from Wallis that they are going to do the interview with him in today's episode!!! Looks like I have to burn the midnight oil again today!!!! Hopefully I won't develop dark eye rings!

Singapore Fringe Festival

Went to watch "The Glass Box/ Pictures from S-21" on Saturday at the Esplanade with Xueling. The play is very sad... the poor guy & gal turned out to be ghosts telling their sad stories during the Khemer Rouge... Sigh... I think the actor & actress must have gone through that tough period as they were very engrossed in the play and cried after the show ended...

Before watching this Cambodian dance/play, we were at Orchard Road. At Paragon while I was coming down from the escalator, Xueling saw this woman with ultra ugly hair and asked me to take a look, and guess wat?? That person turned out to be that kiam pa face colleague of mine!!! HAHAHAHAHA.... well... great minds think alike!

She really will be a disgrace to her friends since when people stared at her, its to marvel how ugly her hair could be and how bad her dress sense could be! As usual, she's in her favourite colour - green, and this time its pastel green with floral prints with a mini sling handbag. This made her looked like an aunty and my friend was really amazed when I told her that this woman is 2 years younger than us!!! Well.... sad to say... Xueling thought Kiam Pa Face looked very old! :P

Went to Happy Chef at Lavender and tried the BBQ Honey Chicken... Yum Yum!!! The food is good and the portion is generous!! But the queue is scary!! We were there at around 1pm but only managed to get a seat at 1:30pm and finished our food around 2:30pm!!!!

Grandma fell from the bed and her condition is quite bad... we have to be on 'stand-by' mode in case anything happens to her. She's already 92 years old...

Hope I can go home early to sleep.... haven't been getting enough sleep recently... wonder why???

I've finished reading Ashin's HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

My 3 nieces are having their CAs this week. Shall bring them to the library on Saturday to return my books and borrow new stuff.... don't have much new reading material lately... sianzzzzzzzzz
