Movies Galore!

Watched a couple of movies during the Chinese New Year Break.

On the first day of CNY, we went to watch "Kung Fu Dunk". OMG!!! That "Chen Chuhe" is so good looking!!!! Chen Bolin looks super cute too! The show was quite farnie... Jacky Wu was the guest star at the beginning of the show. I thought the part where Jay Chou slammed his face onto the board was quite farnie... The storyline was not really something new since Stephen Chow directed Shao Lin Soccer earlier which incorporated Kung Fu with Soccer. This time, its the Slam Dunk edition, but with Kung Fu included. Overall, the show was quite cool.

Then on the second day of CNY, I watched "CJ7" and "Ah Long Pte Ltd".

CJ7 was very much anticipated because of Stephen Chow. The little boy in the show who was Stephen Chow's son turned out to be a little girl in real life! Her acting is really good! I liked "Chang Jiang 7 Hao" doing the various facial expressions... I thought he looked cute.... despite him looking so much like Chicken Little and Shrek combined... I actually cried when Stephen Chow 'died' in the show.... Well... he didn't really acted in this show. The focus was more on the little 'boy' and the alien 'dog'. Still, I enjoyed the movie cos I felt it had a lot of moral values embedded in the storyline... For instance, one should live a life honestly despite rags and riches.

After which we also caught "Ah Long Pte Ltd". Aiyoh! Mark Lee was really farnie lor!! I like the way his 'malaysian accent' turned out in the show. It was really hilarious! His actions, plus his tone of speech really made me roared with laughter. Fann Wong, on the other hand, didn't perform as well as her reol in "Law And Order". I thought her facial expressions were always the same... sigh .... but I think overall, the show was quite alright.

Then on Sunday, I went to watch "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly". It was a french film based on the true story of the Elle Editor who suffered from an accidental stroke taht left him paralysed. He 'told' the story via blinking his eyes. His will to survive moved me. Initlally, the movie made me very giddy as it was from the eyes of the actor. He awoke on the hospital bed with blurred visions and doctors peering into his eyes. The part where his right eye was being 'stitched up' was quite terrifying though... Yucks!

I liked the way he described his life as being 'trapped' in a diving bell' when he was paralysed. There were two things that would not be robbed away despite his paralysis - his memory and his imagination. He imagined going to places, doing things that he would have never imagined doing, or done when he was well. However, the sad truth was he died after 10 days when his book was published in 1997.

The show was quite interseting... but sad to say, not many people were watching it.

I am going to watch the DeathNote spinoff "L - Change the World" tomorrow with YS at Vivocity. Hope its as good as Death Note!
