Watever...
We had our staff appraisal last Wednesday, and I can only say its a waste of time!
It makes no sense to evaluate us twice a year - one interim appraisal in Nov/Dec, and another one in May to see if we've achieved the goals and tasks set half a year ago... Yawnzzzzzzzzz.... if half a year can work miracles, we should all be immortals or gods!
Some things take time to change, especially when work revolves not only yourself, but your colleagues. You can't expect people to change 360 degrees in half a month! You may try changing yourself, but you can't change another person. Anyway, you need to take the small steps to make big changes. So I think sometimes the company is a bit ridiculous to think that things can change within such a short time. Don't they learn that you need to make goals for 1 year, 3 years and 5 years and review them periodically to make sure you are on track and not like this?
I feel like taking a break... Think I'm very exhausted... I voiced out the need to relook at my workload. Don't understand why they assign a buyer who's already so overloaded to help me? In the end I can't focus 100% on planning as the clients are contacting me all the time!!! My boss say its a good thing which I don't deny as the clients see me as the "face" for the team, but I think its a bit overwhelming when product managers from 10 different divisions call you at the same time, asking you for your opinions on this and that, briefing you on new product launches, request for some research data for competitive activities, and even start asking you for media plans with a 1 day turn-around time!
I just hope the working session will help to alleviate my workload... I hate it when they accuse me of not trying hard enough to crack briefs... Well, some smart person suggested that I should not reply the clients' email or take their calls and concentrate on the brief and when I have the ideas and thought process in place, then come back and settle all those little things!
Easier said than done when clients don't call her, but call me all the time and everything is URGENT! I tried to think, but whenever I try to really put my thoughts onto paper, the phone rings and its an emergency, the emails flood in and need immediate attention.. Watever lah! Can't be bothered... in simple Singlish "everything they say, I dun have to explain, just have to agree"
