Down with fever...
Had a slight fever last night, but had to rush down to the production house at Kelantan Lane to pass the CD to the person who's working on the video for our pitch tomorrow.
Went to see a doc this morning. So frustrated with this system where we had to go to the 'designated doctors' to seek treatment! "The Family Doctor" is horrible!!!! The doctor only comes in at 10:30am!!! I don't think its advisable to wait as I just had to quickly see a doctor and eat my medicine and hope I can recover fast!!!
Mum came home around 12+ because she had been at bro's stall to help out. She mentioned that bro went to set up stall around 5+ yesterday and only managed to sell to the evening crowed. But the lights went out at his stall... hmmm.... not too bad! He managed to sell S$110 within 1.5 hours!!! Not too bad earnings after all!!! : )
I haven't been to the stall yet, maybe should go down on Saturday to kaypoh a bit.
Training in Bangkok is quite tough... we practically had to stay up late to finish the pitch! Made friends with people from all over the world and its quite fun actually! : ) The challenge is very real, with brief being changed in the last minute by the client! But I thought its spoof anyway, as Nokia had obviously come up with a TV phone and launched it on 8th March!!! Hmmm.... anyway, we had fun! Our challenge among ourselves is ---> who gets back to the hotel room earliest. One of my colleagues' team is very onz!! They actually worked throughout the night!! straight to the presentation day on Friday. We were the first group to present... and its 1:30pm and we didn't even had time to rehearse!!! Shucks!!!
Everyone thought that our mentor - Guy is gay.... but he's like such a loving father, always telling us things about how he misses his kids. He was just posted to Hong Kong and his kids and missus are still in London. He's quite nice in a way, he bought us red wine on our first night at the dinner, and he bought us all kinds of sweets as he thought having sugar in the blood will make us think harder : ) but he's unlike most of the mentors, he left us on our own most of the time....only checking on us from time to time and giving his feedback on our recommendations. IT gave us the feeling of being "orphaned", cos we see other teams' mentors always by their side..... the ironical thing that had to happen was one China man from my group went 'missing'!!!! There were 11 of us, plus our mentor, 12 in total. But in the end, our group was down to 10 members. That guy went missing and didn't even show up during the presentation!!! We were furious to see him carrying a drink in his hands and mingling with China girls at the Bed Supperclub!!!!! He really deserved a beating up!!! BISH BISH BISH!!!
Although our team didn't make it to the Top 3, we were very happy! 'cos ultimately, we're the real winners, having the luxury of sleep on a Friday night! PHEW!
This trip allowed me to learn how to work with people from different countries and cultures. Ang Mohs are not so great afterall!! For God's sake, they don't even know how to SPELL correctly!!! and this ang moh in my team doesn't even know what's the meaning of "halo effect", well... I rest my case... shall not delve into the Dumb Blonde theory.....
