Its February!!!!
WOW! Time flies...
Yuan got married on 27th January... Felt so happy for her : ) But on 27th Jan, so many things were happening!!!!
It happened to be the "Opening Ceremony of the Chinatown Light-up" and there's road closure for New Bridge Road & Eu Tong Sen Street from 3pm to 11pm!! We really panicked man!!! The wedding dinner is held at Yan Palace Restaurant near Fook Hai Building. On the same day, SHE is having their concert at Kallang Indoor Stadium. And there's a soccer match going on at Kallang Stadium between Malaysia & Singapore!!! (and Singapore won by 1 free kick! and the restaurant had Channel 5 on with the match on-going, and everyone suddenly screamed when Singapore scored the winning goal!)
Luckily we booked a hotel at Hotel 81 Chinatown! The extra mattress is MISERABLE!!! In the end the 3 of us squeezed into the bed (supposedly for 2)... sigh... aircon keeps 'boiling' at night, the water heater is crazy! and there's no remote control when the TV is placed so high atop the mini cupboard!!! Grrrrrr.... the rates are quite expensive for a budget hotel too! Sigh... this is the FIRST & LAST time I will book myself into Hotel 81. Lousy to infinity and beyond! Definitely not worth the money.... Just that we need to rush to and fro to the Restaurant as we were tasked very heavy responsibilities.
We reached Yuan's house at 8am. Then we prepared all the 'booby traps' for the groom during the gatecrash. Sigh... the aunties are a bit impatient with us when we were grilling the groom and his buddies... but the groom & his buddies were not sporting at all.... we let them in too easily I think... but no choice lah... all the aunties very scared that we'll make them miss the 'auspicious hour'.
27th Jan was a very tiring day for us.... we zoomed here and there...
We left around 11am+ and reached the groom's place around 40mins later (traffic was slow along PIE/CTE). After that we had the tea ceremony (heng groom don't have a lot of relatives!). Then we finally can EAT!!!! Food was ok only... but we were hungry lah! So no fish prawn also good! We left the groom's place around 1pm+ to return to the bride's place for the tea ceremony.
That's when we went upstairs to collect the photo albums and zoomed off to the restaurant as we need to work.
We decorated the restaurant with flowers & balloons. The balloons were easily disposed of as there were many kids and we gave away the balloons at the end of the dinner reception. We also had to spread a 'mat' to cover the ugly patch in the middle of the table where the revolving plate is. And then we had to place poppers on certain tables. Decorate the reception area, as well as test the Audio Files.
After that we went to get some bread & water and head to Hotel 81 to check-in. We had a quick shower and then we left for the restaurant to be on 'reception duty' around 6:30pm. WOW!! The relatives damn kiasu! and the bride & groom gave us a very challenging task. The table list was in a MESS!!! It's not arranged according to the plan that the restaurant provided, and then they had some last minute rearrangements. Aiyoh!! Heng we managed to sort everything out and helped them to save costs on 2 tables.
We were really really knocked out as we didn't even bother to shower after the wedding dinner. We went back to the hotel, removed our make-up, changed, and brushed our teeth, and then fell asleep. We only woke up around 10am!!! hahaha... then we quickly washed up, bathed and then got ready to check-out.
Went to the noodle stall beside Hotel 81 for brunch before Yanshan sent us home. Luckily I took 1 day leave on Monday.
It had been very windy recently. Brrrrrrrr.....
Yesteday was Yuan's birthday. We already gave her the decorations as a birthday gift this year. hehe... this was a 2-in-1 birthday present : )
Today is a very busy day.... had been rushing work non-stop from morning till now.... and I am taking a break to write the blog since I've not been updating it for weeeeeeeeeeks!
Yawnzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
It's 9:05pm already! Better run!
