I now pronunce Carolyn Chong as the dumbest woman I've ever worked with!

It's official! Not a doubt!

Carolyn Chong's middle name is STUPID. She is an account director from an advertising agency but she has the concentration level & brains of a pathetic 3 year old.

We suggested she came down to my office to go through the entire media plans for an important campaign launch in mid-August at 3pm on 3rd August. Guess what time did she arrive? 5pm+++

When she was here, her concentration level was only 20%. She kept asking the same questions over and over again. I wondered if we were not giving the clear instructions? However, she was distracted by calling her supplier, calling the media owner to talk about material specifications and calling her creative team to work on this and that! No wonder she can't take in what we said and had to ask over & over again at the face-to-face discussion!!!!! For goodness sake, there were 3 of us talking to her, and we took turns to emphasise on the various media buys, the material specifications & the material deadlines!!!! Even my director was around as she wanted to see for her own eyes how STUPID such a bimbo could be! (and also to see if she qualified to be a bimbo, but ALAS! Bimbo was too high-class for her!)

Nevertheless, after going back to her office, she called again & again asking for the same things that we've spoken about during our face-to-face discussion a few hours ago!! This is how stupid she is!

Trust me! The worst was on Saturday, 4th August, I received 5 calls from her within 1 hour. She can't consolidate the 5 questions and ask me at one shot. She had to call me within 5-10 minute intervals. The first question was the dumbest question I've ever heard from an ACCOUNT DIRECTOR (This only shows the designation is just a decoration, not earned through experience and hard work.). Just because it was stated at "PLASTIC BAG" from the material specs from SPH's document, and in our copy call, its "ENVELOPE", she got confused. And she don't understand why our buy was an "ENVELOPE" when SPH called it "PLASTIC BAG"? We had higlighted thousands of times, and I even wrote an email (so that I have black & white against a dumb woman in case if she refute any claims!) about clarifying against the terms used and to follow the specifications given in the copy call!!!!

Then when I send the revised flowchart to her, I had to call her and ask her if she wanted to go through it with me. And guess what! She told me she would call me 15mins later.... but that call never came through!

Best is her BOSS - the Ang Moh who only knows how to talk! When I told her I had just spoken to the client and the client wanted me to call him directly to ask him to proceed with the colour proofs for one of the medium, he told me he's not very familiar with that and I should speak to that dumb woman! Then when she came to the phone, she told me "OH SO SORRY! I forgot to call me, but I guess its quite late now, I guess I will call you the next morning!" But again, the phone call never happened... Moral of the story - she's not only dumb & suffering from poor concentration, she was also forgetful!!! and not pro-active enough!

Nevermind, today we had to call her to go through the media plan so as to come up with a realistic launch dates & sustenance campaign as they always delayed the launch because the creatives cannot be delivered on time!!! Well.... if they continue to give crappy excuses like "client didn't give approval on time!", "insertion date is too near and material submission is too tight", I think they should seriously considering hiring people who could manage the client, as well as the material timelines.

Best part is she always asks us to talk to the client to postpone the insertion dates! We planned the insertion dates taking into consideration the material submission deadlines. However, if they can't make it, why should it be at the expense of the client & our company? We already did our utmost to help them with the extension of timelines, so they must do their part to chase the client for approval and chase their internal people for the materials!!! Asking us to manage the client on their behalf was just a selfish thought and we can't do their job for them!!!

I think hiring her is the dumbest thing that creative agency has done! And ironically, she was in that company for sometime, working on other accounts before she was transferred to this team to work on my client's business!

In order to stop people from killing themselves and getting herself assassinated, I think she should try her best to pass her IQ & EQ test and improve her concentration level by seeking professional help!

Also, I seriously think my client should call for a pitch and engage some company who can produce better creatives, have better working procedures in place and has a good account servicing team on hand!
